Helping You Move Better, Feel Stronger and Keep Doing What You Love

Hi, I’m Jackie, a yoga teacher, triathlete and triathlon coach based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

I work with everyday movers and endurance athletes who want to move with more confidence, feel stronger and take care of their bodies in a way that supports both training and everyday life.

Through approachable yoga, personalized coaching and practical movement support, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you keep doing the things you love.

MY YOGA & TRIATHLON JOURNEY

My yoga journey began in 2012 at a gym here in Saskatoon. At the time, yoga was something I simply enjoyed. I liked the challenge, the teacher and how I felt after class.

When my favourite teacher left, I stepped away from yoga and found myself trying something completely different: a “Learn to Run 5K” program.

I could barely run for one minute without gasping for air. I still remember the instructor saying that running was only the beginning for some people, and that a few would go on to become triathletes.

I immediately thought there was no way I could ever complete a triathlon.

But I finished that 5K, and something shifted. I loved swimming, knew how to ride a bike and decided to see what might be possible.

I signed up for my first sprint triathlon and fell in love with the sport. From there, I continued challenging myself with longer races, including a standard-distance triathlon, a half Ironman and, eventually, a full Ironman in 2017.

Crossing the Ironman finish line was one of my proudest moments, but after reaching such a big goal, I found myself wondering what would come next.

And That's When Yoga
Called Me Back

Two weeks after completing my Ironman, I returned to the mat. What surprised me most was how difficult it felt to slow down. After years of training and a life that was always moving, being still felt more challenging than any workout.

Yoga helped me pause, breathe and reconnect with my body. It supported my mobility, strength, balance and recovery, but it also reminded me that taking care of yourself does not always mean pushing harder.

Sometimes, it means slowing down, listening and giving your body what it needs.

As I continued practising, I saw how yoga could support people in so many different ways. It could help an athlete recover from training, help someone feel less stiff after a long day or simply provide a quiet moment to reset.

That realization inspired me to become a yoga teacher and specialize in yoga for athletes. My love of helping people learn, progress and discover what they are capable of later led me to become a triathlon coach.

Today, yoga and triathlon continue to shape how I move, teach and coach. Together, they have taught me the value of strength, resilience, recovery and balance.

My Approach

Whether I am teaching yoga or coaching an athlete, I focus on helping each person move better, feel stronger and care for their body in a way that works for them.

Yoga is not about performing every pose perfectly, and coaching is not about forcing every athlete into the same plan. Both are about listening, adapting and creating an approach that supports the individual.

Whether you are joining a private yoga session, attending a workplace workshop or training for your next race, I want you to feel welcomed, supported and encouraged to progress at your own pace.

Approachable

You do not need to be flexible, fast or experienced to begin.

Individual

Sessions and coaching are adapted to your body, experience, lifestyle and goals.

Supportive

You will be encouraged to grow in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.

Always Learning, Always Growing

I have taught more than 1,900 hours of yoga and continue to expand my knowledge through ongoing education in yoga, anatomy and coaching.

My background in triathlon coaching also shapes the way I teach. It has helped me understand how the body moves, how important recovery is and how different each person’s needs can be.

I continue learning because I want to keep growing as a teacher and coach while creating thoughtful, supportive experiences for every person I work with.

BEYOND TRIATHLON & YOGA

When I am not training, teaching yoga or coaching athletes, you will usually find me spending time with my husband and our two pups, Maple and Walnut.

I love cozy nights watching documentaries, reading nonfiction and listening to music, especially Coldplay. I once followed them to three different cities back-to-back, but that is a story for another day!

I am happiest in the mountains, especially in winter. There is something about snow-covered peaks that makes me feel completely at home.

Something people are often surprised to learn about me is that I am an introvert. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people and having meaningful conversations, but I also need quiet time to recharge.

Being an introvert does not mean being shy. It simply means we refill our energy through solitude, and if you get an introvert talking about something they are passionate about, they can go for hours!

My love for movement and community also inspired me to start NextGen Youth Triathlon Club, a nonprofit created to help children discover confidence, connection and fun through sport.
