I invite you to stop for a moment and start to be aware of how your neck and head feel.
Does it feel tight?
Maybe it feels like you cannot release your neck
Maybe you even notice some discomfort going all the way up to your head
Whatever we do in life, we create tension in our necks.
Maybe you sit in front of the computer all day. Maybe you are on your phone a lot.
Perhaps you are a triathlete like me and you have to look up the whole time when you cycle. Lastly, I am sure we all experience this…. STRESS!
Myofascial release is a great way to release these discomforts and restore circulation in your body.
The video below shows how to use a yoga block (or a stack of books, please make sure the stack of books is sturdy) to release neck tension and tension headaches.
It is also a wonderful way to reduce stress. This pose taps into your parasympathetic nervous system (your rest and digest mode) and helps you find that relaxation at the end of the day.
I hope you enjoy this pose. Remember if this is too intense, put a blanket over the block. This extra cushioning will help you ease and melt into the pose.
Enjoy and until then,
Keep being you, the world needs more you! 🌻❤️
